Side Delights shares recipes for the upcoming holidays.

San Francisco, CA (September 14, 2020) – As the ‘no travel’ trend continues into the holidays, Side Delights offers easy solutions for consumers choosing to stay home or close to home this holiday season. In a recent study, 58% of consumers are not planning to travel for the holiday season—up from 49% last year1. In August, data showed that winter holiday bookings were 65.4% behind where they were around a similar time period in 20192.

“Usually about 25% of all fresh potatoes sell November through December,” noted Kathleen Triou, President and CEO of Fresh Solutions Network. “But this season, many restaurant holiday meals will take place at home, and large family gatherings will turn into several smaller dinners, each with their own turkey and bowl of mashed potatoes,” she continued. “As a result, we expect holiday demand to increase nearly 30% more than a normal holiday season.”

Data continues to show that nearly a third of U.S. adults plan to cook at home more, even though stay-at-home recommendations have lifted., The number is even higher for younger shoppers, with 43% of Gen Z respondents planning to cook at home more post pandemic3.

In preparation for a year of holidays at home Side Delights is offering suggestions to shoppers for every meal through their website and social media channels. With recipes like Mini Potato Frittatas, Potato Cakes and Cranberry Orange Sauce, and Creamy Potato Leek Soup, consumers can find the perfect dish for their seasonal spreads.
